YOUTH EXPERIENCE

2008 - Present: Founder of Ministry to Youth

  • Founder of Ministry to Youth, a company that creates youth and children's ministry curriculum & resources.
  • Built the company from scratch that now has 35,000+ customers from around the world.

August 2022 - January 2026: Staff & Volunteer at North Coast Calvary Chapel in Carlsbad, CA

  • Interim Associate Director of Surge (4th-6th Grade) - For seven months, I helped lead and shape a thriving preteen ministry serving 80+ students each weekend. I planned and led weekend programming, crafted weekly teachings, and created engaging environments where students could learn and grow. I led a small group of students, recruited and supported volunteer leaders, and helped coach them in how to connect well with students. I also planned and led large-scale events and camps, handling everything from programming to logistics to parent communication. I transitioned out of this role once a long-term director was hired, helping ensure a smooth handoff.
  • Surge Coordinator (4th-6th Grade) - In this staff role, I continued supporting weekly programming by coordinating the Sunday service experience, leading a small group of students, and caring for students and families. I partnered with volunteer leaders, provided clear communication and organization, and helped create a welcoming, consistent environment for students. I also planned and executed special events for 6th graders and stayed connected with parents to support students both inside and outside of the ministry.
  • Elevate (7th-8th Grade) & VOX (9th-12 Grade) - As a volunteer, I led middle school and high school small groups, building strong relationships with students and showing up consistently in their lives. I planned and led small group twice a week for 3 1/2 years and occasionally taught during weekend services. I invested in students outside of ministry, believing relational connection is key to meaningful spiritual growth in the lives of students.

2020 - 2022: Volunteer Youth Leader at Light Church in Encinitas, CA

  • Supported weekly student programs by helping plan and run group sessions, events, and activities as needed.
  • Built strong mentoring & discipleship relationships with students and maintained positive communication with families.
  • Occasionally taught on Sundays and midweek services.

2012 - 2018: Youth Director at Common Ground Church in Covington, LA

  • Led weekly programs for preteens (4th–6th grade) and youth (7th-12th grade), intentionally designing weekend services where students connected with one another and grew closer to Jesus.
  • Worked closely with students one-on-one to support personal and spiritual growth.
  • Recruited, trained, and supported volunteer leaders, equipping them to guide small groups and create consistent, supportive learning spaces.
  • Partnered with families through regular communication, helping reinforce student growth and address individual needs.
  • Coordinated events, retreats, and activities, managing logistics and schedules to provide meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.
  • Oversaw program operations, ensuring a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for students.
  • Being financially supported by Ministry to Youth, I was able to be in this role as a volunteer.
